Video Editing

Various Projects

See video editing examples below

I approach my work with a strategic mind, recognising the value of creating content that can be repurposed across multiple platforms, maximising ROI. Delivering videos that help my clients achieve their business goals.

I have worked on a variety of project with clients large and small. As an in-house content creator, as part of an agency and as a freelancer.

The trouble with video editing showreels is that they don’t actually show you if an editor can tell a story or not. And these shots may have come from someone else (either a cinematographer, motion designer or stock video website). As such, below you will find a small sample of some of the videos I have edited.

Charity Video for Football Trust

About this Work

This video was one of several pieces I edited to be shown at a gala funding event for Cambridge United Community Trust. Each video told the story of a different person who’s life had been changed by the trust.

The footage for this project was very limited as I believe the whole shoot was only several hours long. And whilst Bryson was an absolute champ at having the confidence to be on camera, his interview was not the easiest to cut. Fortunately, I was able to use the interview with his mother to add some context to what he was saying without taking away too much of his screen time.

I was quite pleased how the colour grade came out on this one. I wanted to add a soft, warm feel to the piece and used a bloom effect to achieve this.

The Møller Institute – Leadership Programme

About this Work

One of several pieces I edited for The Møller Institute introducing their mentor and leadership courses. They comprise primarily of stock footage, client supplied talking heads and some basic graphics. The client provided footage here was shot on greenscreen but the camera files provided were not of the highest quality, meaning some fine tuning and colour correction was needed to get the best keyed result possible.

Motorhome Promo

About this Work

A real simple short promo video for a motorhomes rental company. I was given the footage to cut into a short piece with music for social. As the video had no voice over I decided I would use some on screen graphics to tell the story, to better keep viewers engaged.

BMW Enthusiasts Event

About this Work

I both shot and edited this piece. The event only lasted a couple of hours and all-in-all had a lot less going on (visually speaking) than I had anticipated – consisting mostly of a couple of people milling around chatting. And never a large enough group in one place to get a shot of it looking busy. So I decided that I would use a few snazzy transitions to liven it up a bit with a rock style backing track.

The purpose of the video was two-fold: to act as a commemorative piece for the enthusiasts group and be a good PR piece for Barons Cambridge (the dealership that hosted the event).

Phishing Scam Awareness

About this Work

This has to be one of my favourite pieces. Short, to the point and humorous. It was a great opportunity to have a bit of fun – particularly the Edgar Wright-esque shot of the finger hitting the delete button.

I may be biased, but I think it makes a nice change from the usual style cyber security related videos have.
